Pediatric Hearing Assessment

A number of hearing tests like BOA/ VRA/ Play Auidometry, Tympanometry & ART, OAE, BERA are used to check hearing problems in older babies and children

Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)

This is a hearing test that determines the degree, shape and type of hearing loss present in each ear by using pure tones

Hearing Test - FAQ

Audiologists are healthcare professionals who can help to prevent, diagnose, and treat hearing and balance disorders for people of all ages. For more details visit, ASHA

In India, Audiologist holds Bachelor's (4 years) and Master's degree (2 Years) in Audiology to treat your hearing problems.

Audiology is the science of hearing, balance, and related disorders.

An ENT doctor is trained to provide medications or surgery to your ear problems which an Audiologit can't. An Audiologist is trained to evaluate your hearing loss by performing various diagnostic hearing tests, recommend suitable hearing aid and program/ tune the hearing aid for your needs which an ENT is not trained to do.

If you have hearing loss, you can directly visit an Audiologist to get your hearing checked.

If you have any symptoms of hearing loss, you should see an audiologist to have a formal hearing evaluation. The hearing test allows the audiologist to determine the type, nature and degree of your hearing loss. Your sensitivity, acuity and accuracy to speech understanding will be assessed as well. Results of the hearing evaluation are plotted on a graph called an audiogram. The audiogram provides a visual view of your hearing test results across various pitches or frequencies, especially the ones necessary for understanding speech.

Yes. We perform hearing tests for all ages including newborns.

For Adults, hearing evaluation will take minimum of 30 minutes.

For infants and children, hearing evaluation will take a minimum of 1 hr.

Audiogram is important to select the suitable hearing aid and to program it accordingly. So, if your hearing tests/audiogram is not performed by a qualified Audiologist,

- Your hearing aid selction will go wrong
- Your hearing aid will not be programmed properly.

The above will result in uncomfortable hearing or overall bad experience for the user
